Frequently Asked Questions

Not all businesses are eligible to be a Fabick Dealer, so how do I qualify?

Fabick dealerships can only be granted to companies that are already successfully up and running. We cannot grant a contract to start-ups. We are working to build a network of successful, established businesses that are already delivering quality products and services to their customers.

What types of coating applications can I perform with the Fabick products?

Although truck bedliners are the most common application, there are a wide variety of Fabick Protective Coatings and applications, which will allow you to tailor our product to meet the needs of your market. You can serve just Spray-on customers, use our patented Poured-On® process to build up your commercial business, or do a combination of both. We can even show you how to set up a mobile unit to provide on-site applications.

How does the fact that Fabick’s Poured-On® process is patented benefit me?

Fabick’s patent guarantees you will have bedliner product for pickups and commercial trucks which none of your competitors can offer. You will also have exclusive rights to apply the most durable bedliner in the coating industry today, backed by a registered U.S. patent to help keep it that way.

How is it possible for Fabick to offer so many applications?

Most Spray-on bedliner firms buy their chemicals from someone else. But Fabick operates it’s own chemical division, which gives it the ability to manufacture and control the quality and properties of its products.

What other benefits are there to becoming a Fabick dealer?

First of all, we offer much more than the ability to apply Spray-on truck bedliners. Once you become a Fabick dealer you’ll also have the capability to become a full-fledged “coatings specialist.” We not only offer a wide range of industrial coating products, we also train your people on how to perform the proper application techniques, thus enabling you to enter new markets and develop new customers for your business. Secondly, we are not simply a “me, too” marketing company selling another firm’s concepts and chemical products. Over the past 10 years we have carefully developed our own methods and processes through “hands-on” experience with exactly the same kinds of customers you will be working to attract. Since we have our own extensive retail operation in Southern Wisconsin, we know from solid experience precisely what it takes to succeed in the retail coatings industry.

How much will it cost to get going?

For the average new dealer, the total cost to start a Fabick coatings business will run between $30,000 and $70,000, depending on what type of equipment you select and how much training your personnel require. There are four basic components to the fee, including: A dealership license fee, equipment charges, technical training and support, marketing information and an exclusive territory. The only cost not included is your chemical cost.

Does Fabick expect me to pay the entire amount up front?

The short answer is, “Yes.” We require that payment be made in two installments. Half of the fee should be submitted when your sign the dealership agreement. This allows us to go ahead and order your equipment. The second half is due approximately 30 days later, when you and your personnel come to the Fabick facilities to begin your training.

If cash flow is a concern, is it possible to lease the equipment?

Yes, leasing the equipment is an option.

If I already hold a franchise with another bedliner firm, and want to use Fabick’s Poured-On® process to increase my commercial business, do I have to drop my old company, or buy all new equipment?

Holding another franchise does not pose a conflict as far as Fabick is concerned. We will allow you to handle both. If your present equipment allows for variable flow rates, you may also be able to use your present equipment. However, most Spray-on equipment handles 1-to-1 chemical applications. Due to its density, the Poured-On® product requires a 2-to-1 flow rate at present.

If my current equipment is not compatible, can I trade it in and receive credit toward a new system?

Yes, we will accept trade-ins of used application equipment. Each unit is appraised and credit is granted toward the purchase of a new system.

Will I be competing with other Fabick dealers?

We provide protected geographic territories and will not allow another Fabick dealer to be located within that area. While we can restrict a dealer’s location, we cannot restrict where a dealer advertises or where a customer chooses to go to have their Fabick Bedliner installed.

How long will it take for me to recoup my $35,000 investment?

The short, honest answer is . . . it depends. Every dealer’s profit margins will be different, depending on how much competition he faces and a variety of other market factors. It also depends on how many, and which types of bedliners the dealership applies (personal use, or professional use). While it’s not possible to give a definite answer, dealers typically recoup their investment within the first two years. In addition, many dealers use the Fabick Bedliner as a building block to “up-sell” customers on the value of other truck accessories they might not otherwise sell. So there is no one “right answer” to this question.

Once I’ve signed a contract, how long does the training and set-up take?

That depends on which package you choose to go with. It takes a bit longer if your people are being trained to do both Spray-on and pour-on liners. In most cases, training requires a minimum of three (3) days at our facilities in Madison, WI, plus two (2) days at your location to assist with set-up and training. We also offer technical support over the phone at no charge during your start-up period. So in the event your people need help with a job or have technical questions, help is just a phone call away.

What kind of support can I expect after my technicians are trained?

You will be provided with Fabick’s comprehensive Operation & Trouble-shooting Manual. It provides detailed describes of each process and gives step-by-step instructions on what to do. Our technicians who worked with on the initial training and set-up will be your contacts in case you have additional questions or run into equipment problems you don’t know how to fix. These people will be able to assist you, no matter what your needs.

What type of warranty can I give to my customers?

You can give your customers any type or length of warranty you feel comfortable providing. We at Fabick, Inc. offer a limited life-time warranty which guarantees against cracking, peeling and craftsmanship.

Will I be provided with marketing and promotion assistance as I work to develop the market for my Fabick coatings products?

Yes, we will assist you in developing marketing and promotion ideas for the Fabick line. We will not only share with you the approaches and techniques that have worked well in our retail market, we will provide brochures, advertising materials and other assistance as well.
